Rummy Melds
Under standard rummy meld rules, rummy melds consist of arranging dealt cards into valid sequences (consecutive cards of the same suit) or sets (same rank, different suits).
Pure Sequence
A sequence of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit created without using any Joker.
Impure Sequence
A sequence of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit where a wild card joker or printed joker replaces a missing card rank.
Set
A group of three or four cards of the exact same rank but belonging to different suits (e.g. 8♦-8♣-8♠).
Stock Pile (Closed Deck)
The face-down pile in the center from which players draw cards during their turn.
Discard Pile (Open Deck)
The face-up pile where players discard one card at the end of their turn.
Rummy Joker Rules
Under official rummy joker rules, a Joker (printed or wild) carries 0 points and can substitute for any missing card rank to complete an impure sequence or a set.
First Drop
Dropping out at the start of a deal before drawing any card, carrying a flat penalty of 20 points.
Middle Drop
Dropping out of a deal after drawing one or more cards, carrying a penalty of 40 points.
Wrong Show
An invalid declaration carrying the maximum penalty of 80 points.
Buy-in / Re-join
Paying another entry fee to rejoin a Pool Rummy game after elimination, starting with a score equal to the highest active player's score + 1.
Point Value
The monetary value assigned to each point in Points Rummy (e.g., ₹1 per point), used for calculating final game payouts.
