Rummy 500 Rules & Scoring Manual
Master the official **rummy 500 rules** and scoring systems. Unlike traditional Indian Rummy where you want to minimize points, in Rummy 500 the objective is to be the first player to accumulate **500 positive points** across multiple deals.
1. Game Setup & Dealing
Rummy 500 can be played by 2 to 8 players. It uses a standard 52-card deck (or two decks if there are 5 or more players). Dealing cards is based on player count:
- 2 players: Each player is dealt **7 cards**.
- 3 or more players: Each player is dealt **7 cards** (or sometimes 6 depending on table agreements).
2. Rummy 500 Scoring: Card Point Values
Under official **rummy 500 scoring** guidelines, melded cards count as positive points, while unarranged cards left in your hand count as negative points.

3. Calling "Rummy" on the Discard Pile
One of the most exciting aspects of **scoring rummy 500** is the discard pile rule. A player can draw a card from deep within the discard pile, provided they take all cards above it, and immediately meld the bottom card of the drawn group.
If a player discards a card that could be melded into an existing group on the table, any other player can call **"Rummy!"** out of turn. The first person to call "Rummy!" claims the card, melds it face-up to earn the positive points, and the turn flow continues normally.
4. Winnings & End of Game
A round ends when a player goes out by melding all cards in their hand. At the end of the deal, each player calculates their score:
Round Score = (Sum of points of melded cards on table) − (Sum of points of unarranged cards left in hand)
The game continues over several deals until a player's cumulative score reaches **500 points**. If multiple players cross 500 in the same round, the player with the highest total score wins.
